This post may come a bit late  since the annual MTV Movie Awards was held almost two months ago. I have been pre-occupied lately that it is only now that I managed to come up with a post regarding the event.

The MTV Movie Awards 2011 was a night filled with vampire actors, scene-stealers, superstars, and all the chaos you expect to find in an MTV event. This year’s event was held at the Gibson Amphitheater in University City, California on June 5, 2011.

The event was hosted by Saturday Night Live’s Jason Sudeikis wherein his opening monologue was one of the highlights of the night as he literally made fun of the celebrities that were there for the night. Some of the celebrities that were particularly made fun of at the opening moments of the show were Selena Gomez, Kristen Stewart, and Chelsea Handler.

The star-studded event was attended by many celebrities who were also presenters for various awards for the night. Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake co-presented the Best Male Performance award to Robert Pattinson for his movie The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Fittingly enough, his female counterpart for the film, Kristen Stewart, also bagged the Best Female Performance award, as presented by Ashton Kutcher and Nicki Minaj. For the Best Villain award, Tom Felton took home the trophy for his performance at the Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows movie and was presented by Ryan Gosling, Steve Carell, and Emma Stone.

The Best Jaw Dropping Moment award was given to Justin Bieber for his 3D film, Never Say Never, who also made a surprise appearance at the award show. The trophy for the award was co-presented by Nick Swardson, Aziz Ansari, and Danny McBride. The Best Fight award was once again won by Eclipse in a fight scene that involved Robert Pattinson versus Xavier Samuel and Bryce Dallas Howard.

And for the infamous Best Kiss award, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively gave the trophy to real-life and on-screen sweethearts Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. This also gave way to another one of many highlights to the MTV Movie Awards 2011 wherein instead of kissing Kristen Stewart on-stage, Robert Pattinson ran off to the audience and towards Taylor Lautner’s seat to plant a kiss on his cheek.

Other major awards presented on the MTV Movie Awards 2011 are as follows: Best Breakout Star for Chloe Grace Moretz in Kick-Ass, Best Comedic Performance for Emma Stone in Easy A, Best Scared Ass S**t Performance for Ellen Page in Inception, and Biggest Badass Star for Chloe Grace Moretz in Kick-Ass. Several artists also graced the show with their musical performances, namely Miley Cyrus and Bret Michaels, the Foo Fighters, and Lupe Fiasco.

Gary Bussey presented the Best Movie award to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, which beat out other nominations such as The Black Swan, Inception, Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part 1, and The Social Network. The audience of the MTV Movie Awards 2011 were also able to glimpse clips of upcoming movies due for release this summer that includes Super 8, Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part II, and the Breaking Dawn trailer. Finally, Reese Witherspoon was given the most prestigious award for this year’s event, which is the MTV Generation Award.

I recently bought an 8GB flash drive from one the local computer stores here in Davao. It was not really part of my “to buy” list but since my current memory stick is just only 1GB and my best friend is using it most of the time, so I thought why not buy a new one and just let my best friend have my old memory stick. So me and my best buddy went to the mall and purchased Microdia Flash Key Twist. I was actually looking for a Kingston brand but it was not available so I opted for the Microdia Flash Key Twist.

When I got home, I formatted it and save important files in it. During the transfer of files from my laptop to my flash drive everything went fine however when I tried to copy the files from my flash drive to my office computer all the folders were empty! I was very certain that I copied them correctly from my laptop to the memory stick. Good thing was, I don’t really need those files badly and did not give a big deal out of what happen.

When I got home, I copied again the files and double checked them. The following day, I again transfer the files to my office computer and everything was intact so I thought it was just some sort of error that I did not notice during the transfer from the laptop to the flash drive. However, the same problem happened again not just twice but many times after few weeks of using my newly purchased flash drive. I am starting to get piss because it is inconvenient especially if I needed the files badly.

So lesson learned, try to read some reviews first before buying any electronic or computer devices. User reviews are a great help when deciding what brand to buy. Through user reviews, you will know if the device is a must buy or not. As much as I wanted not to get piss with this piece of crap, I just can’t help it because it’s a total waste of money on my part.

Experienced freelancers are already cynical about this type of job ads, which is equivalent to coming to work one day and then getting fired the next.

Lack of Contact Information

Freelance job seekers and recruiters have difficulties keeping in touch because of email or technical problems. It’s finally done! The Filipino people have chosen the next leader of this country.

Yesterday’s election was a tiring one for me. I’ve waited for more than two hours to be able to cast my vote; very different from the last time in which it took only thirty minutes for me to vote. Despite of the long hours of waiting and not to mention the rain, I opted to stay because I don’t want to let my chance pass me by in choosing the next leader of the country.

I’ve waited patiently until my priority number was called and when it’s time for me to vote, the feeling shifted from exhausted to excited and at the same time nervous. The shading part was a bit scary because the oval was too tiny. It didn’t take long for me to vote since I have already had a list of candidates for each position. I was relieved to see a congratulatory note in the pcos machine screen.

I think the only improvement in yesterday’s election was the counting of votes; the rest was….I’d rather not describe it. The major beneficiaries of the automated election are the people in-charge for the counting of ballots because they don’t have to spend sleepless nights trying to manually count the votes of millions of people. As for the part of the politicians, they don’t have to wait far too long to know the result because in just a matter of days the Commission on Election will announce the winners for both national and local positions.

Though there were few violent incidents recorded in some places, overall the election was peaceful and went smoothly. I feel bad for those who were not able to vote because of the turtle like process of voting. The people from the COE must do something about it in the next election because we don’t want to waste another millions of votes, do we?

I wish that for the next election, it will be completely automated – touch screen election. Voters will just have to touch the name of their chosen candidates in the screen and then the result will be delivered automatically to the COMELEC’s server so that at the end of the voting hours, winners will also be declared.

Jovit Baldovino has done it again! His rendition of Europe’s Carrie earned him a standing ovation from the whole crowd and the three PGT judges. He was good during the first round but he was amazing during the semi finals. He is such a talented young man and I really hope that he will be given break in the music industry. People like him deserves to have an album because he can really sing unlike other celebrities out there, even if they don’t the right to have an album still they were given a chance to have one because they are already popular. For me that’s a total crap!

Anyways, going back to the main subject which is Jovit Baldivino, he won the hearts of millions of Filipino because he got the most text votes. Why not? After all he had the best performance among the semi finalists. He was also the first one to become a grand finalist, thanks to the people who voted for him. Just like Kris Aquino said, Jovit Baldivino is destined to become a popular singer and I could not agree more. The three million views of his performance during his audition in youtube is a testament that he is already a star and it would be nice if Oprah or Ellen DeGeneres could watch it and hopefully he will be invited to sing in their respective shows just like our very own Charice Pempengco.

Though the grand finals will not happen until the 12th of June, I can already feel that it’s going to be Jovit Baldivino’s night because he has a huge chance of winning the contest.

April 06 marked the end of my nephew’s preparatory school. Though he graduated without receiving any awards still I am so proud of him. He never really has to bring in lots of medal for us to be proud of him. Seeing him up in the stage receiving his diploma was the cutest thing I have ever seen in my entire life.

The following day, we had a simple family outing @ Jones Beach in Talomo. Originally, the plan was to have our outing in Samal but my mother does not like the idea of crossing the Samal gulf, so we just settled at Jones Beach.

Joshua just can’t seem to wait to get his feet soak in the water. He immediately asked me to take off his shirt and headed straight to the kiddie pool. He was enjoying every minute of it. He loves the water so much that he does not want to go home anymore.

Good thing the sun was not at its shiniest that day so we never really have to worry about sunburn. We spent most of our time in the water, transferring from one pool to another. The two kids (Joshua and his cousin Matthew) had a blast playing and swimming in the kiddie pool.

It was such a fun filled activity and I had a lot of fun taking photos of my family enjoying the water.

I can’t wait for our next family outing.
