Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a very important technique that every website owner should implement. It is an effective method to increase online presence for websites and this is vital especially nowadays that there are more and more websites established in the Internet—with huge competitions.
There are lots of strategies used to effectively optimize a particular site in the eyes of search engines. However, these can be divided into two general categories–on page and off page optimization. Both plays a very essential role to maintain the life of a particular website while competing head to head with the others.
Talking about ‘on-page optimization‘, it is just a term used to describe optimizing the website itself—site that one is striving to promote. This includes intelligent site title selection, building competitive meta-tags, creating substantial and keyword-rich content; weaving inbound links—among other important techniques. By doing these things, you are developing a site that is valuable in the eyes of search engines—regardless of their varied algorithms.
Off-page optimization, on the other hand, is as essential as on-page optimization because this is also a very important strategy to elevate the value or importance of a particular site in the eyes of search engines. Off-page optimization is a method used in optimizing a certain site outside its bounds. These can include article submission, blog commenting, directory submission, participating in online forum- among others—with a prime purpose of weaving inbound links (backlinks) which in the terminal point, can increase the site’s value or authority.
On-page and off-page optimization are ( in some points) different techniques of Search Engine Optimization yet both are very effective. Thus, if one is an intelligent search engine optimizer, he must exercise both strategies– that is, if he wants to achieve optimum benefits that the Internet technology can bring.
